Born in New Zealand. I enjoyed designing audio power amps as a hobby since buying a Sinclair Z30 module and modifying it. After gaining an electrical engineering degree I designed amplifers and speaker systems (hobby) including motional feedback, negative resistance damping and current drive, and my fascination with MOSFETs lead to several unusual designs that appeared in Wireles World (now Electronics World) and Linear Audio bookzine.
A Masters on homopolar motors for electric cars. Worked as an engineer in New Zealand, then taught electronics, then worked in Australia manufacturing. Now retired in Australia.
