DoubleCross is a name Bob Cordell trade-marked for an output stage that uses two pairs of power transistors in parallel with each pair biased at different currents to eliminate so-called Gm-doubling crossover distortion generated when using higher than normal idle current. Bias currents and emitter resistors need to be careful chosen to get close to zero Gm-doubling crossover nonlinearity that can be far lower distortion than single pair push-pull output stages. The best settings cannot be found by trail and error for DoubleCross because there are more variables. However, by using the equation solution for the DoubleCross circuit in a spreadsheet we can run Solver to adjust the Bias currents and emitter resistors to get minimum Gm-doubling distortion. And it works! This is the flagship demo for my PAK project! It was posted on a forum https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/solid-state/171159-bob-cordells-power-amplifier-book-post6533778.html on 15 Feb 2021. Bob replied, "That deserves a toast!" Thanks Bob.
